An Introduction to ME

Hi Everyone

My name is Andrea. I am originally from the very mountainous Christchurch, New Zealand. Thoughts of home bring to mind the majestic mountains in my back yard, fruit trees, rivers. all things green and of course the massive sheep population (they outnumbered the people). I have lived in the States for 15 years. I am a huge dog lover. At present I have 4 dogs: Lillie, Pedro, JK and Princess Brandywine Dandyridge. Lillie is a Great Pyrenees. She is enormous and sheds everywhere. Pedro is Lillie's offspring and physical proof that "love" can overcome all obstacles (even really high fences). JK is a stray we rescued. She gets her name from the great JK Rowling. Princess Brandywine Dandyridge is the newest addition to our family. She is the sweetest little long-haired Chihuahua.

I recieved my BA in English with a minor in biology and classics here at Texas Tech. I am working on a MA in English with a concentration in Linguistics. I love to read. I am huge fan of the Bronte sisters, Jane Austen and Diane Gibaldon. I am a huge, huge Grey's Anatomy fan.

My teaching experience is very limited. For the last year I have served as an ESL tutor through the Lubbock Literacy program. Through this program I met some incredible individuals.

I am really excited to start Graduate school and look forward to working with all of you.
